Review: Hydropeptide Anti-Wrinkle Skin Enhancing UV Protection Cream

The Hydropepttide Anti-Wrinkle Skin Enhancing UV Protection product is a day time moisturizer that promises to protect, beautify, and restore your skin’s natural beauty.  It contains sunscreen, powerful anti-oxidants and natural anti-aging vitamins.  The product also won a 2010 Prevention Magazine beauty award for best day cream with SPF because of it’s high performance (it was independently tested by five women over the age of 40 for 8 weeks).

Our editor, Yona, was eager to try this product and report back.  See her review below.

This product had a slightly grainy look when I first pumped it into my palm.  I thought: Uh oh! Who wants a grainy product sitting on your skin all day? Not moi!

But it went onto my face as smooth as could be, and it absorbed very well.  Also pleasant was the scent—watermelon? Cucumber?—in any case, it was very fresh and appealing.  But best of all was the way it actually adapted to the unique color of my skin, giving me a very subtle but nonetheless discernible bit of coverage—a good base for foundation, or, if I wanted to skip that, just blush.

As for sun protection, I confess I am a bit of a nut, and in spring/summer, ratchet my SPF (for my face) to at least 50, if not 70.  But I would use this product in the winter, when the sun is less strong, or on rainy/overcast days.  I liked the pumping action too—allowed me to control the amount I used better than a tube.

This product retails for $40.00.
