Valentine’s Day only comes but once a year, and for this single twenty-something, it never hurts to treat yourself to something a little nice. (Those sugary sweet conversation hearts can only satisfy a girl so much, and to be honest I can do without the cavities.) Thank goodness for the folks at Lush, as their latest Valentine’s collection delivers a romantic punch of pink and red without the unwanted sugar high.

Instead of a heaping box of chocolates, beauty gifts always impress. And these are easy on your budget (they’re all under $20)  and will satisfy any cosmetics-loving cutie. Plus, with super-cute and almost edible designs, there’s no way even the most cynical of Valentine’s Day haters could refuse these charming goodies.

I actually got to try out this collection last year, since I am one serious Lush fangirl. (Trust me, you don’t want to know how many bath bombs I’ve got lying around.) However, one thing I love about the LUSH brand is that they always outdo themselves when it comes to holiday collections.

For example, the Prince Charming Shower Gel ($9.95-$29.95) has become somewhat of a showertime favorite of mine, with its irresistible cocktail of cheery citruses and delicious vanilla oils. Plus, it never hurts that the gel itself is just the most popping shade of pink, which always boosts my mood after a sour day.

If you prefer a relaxing bath over a shower, treat yourself to the Floating Flower Bath Bomb ($6.95) which brings together sweet smelling jasmine for a true tub treat. Plus, watching the bomb unfold isa  visual feast, as a candy colored swirls give your bath water a psychedelic treatment.

Want your pucker to be Valentine’s ready? Why not try the The Kiss Lip Scrub, ($9.95, lushusa.com) which softens up coarse and dry lips with a buffing caster sugar scrub. Like most Lush lip scrubs, I was an instant fan of this one. With added heart sprinkles, I think this one wins the award.

Back to everything bath, the Love Locket Bath Bomb ($11.95) really impressed me last year, as it’s creative design and heavenly smell made my bathtime an instant zen retreat.

Watching this bomb unfold is amazing too, as it’s initial pink explosion fizzles into a pink-red water filled with tiny agar hearts. A perfect ending to your Valentine’s date night, this sizzling steamer turns up the heat fast.

And if you’re like me and appreciate any quirky little innovation Lush throws your way, make way for the Heart Throb Bubbleroon, ($8.95) which helps your bod get festive with skin softening shea butter and an intoxicating floral scent. I love crumbling this bad boy in the tub when I need to be extra fancy, as the added glitter makes me feel extra special when I use it.

Finally, comes the Unicorn Horn Bubble Bar ($7.95) which is probably my favorite part of the collection, as it’s cheerful fantastical shape makes me giddier beyond belief. Its whimsical appeal makes me kind of want to treasure it for a special occasion.
