The Sebum Clearing Masque is a cooling clay masque that helps clear skin and prevent breakouts. You’ll use this product after cleansing to enhance skin clearing and control the main factors that contribute to breakouts. Oil-absorbing clays help detoxify skin as salicylic acid stimulates natural exfoliation to clear pore congestion. Sooth aggravation brought on by breakouts with cooling botanicals, and help purify, refine, and eliminate excess oils for clearer skin. It is formulated without artificial fragrances and colors. You can even use this as a spot treatment masque to help target and clear breakouts too!

I applied this product 3 times per week and left it on for 10 minutes each time, as directed. I found that it did a nice job of clearing out my pores. I love the cooling sensation, too. This product is fantastic at combating any clogged pores and blackheads that you might have on your nose and other areas of your face. Additionally, as it dries, you can see the excess sebum and oils being pulled out from your skin. I love the fact that it isn’t too strong and doesn’t dry out my skin either. It seems to be the perfect balance!
The Overnight Clearing Gel is a nighttime gel which helps to clear your skin and prevent future breakouts. To use this, simply smooth over skin after cleansing at night. The salicylic acid sloughs off pore-clogging skin cells to inhibit development of further breakouts, while naturally antiseptic tea tree oil soothes while you sleep. Help inhibit breakout-causing bacteria with meadowsweet (spiraea ulmaria) for clearer, healthier skin. Niacinamide and biotin combined with zinc gluconate, yeast extract, caffeine, and licorice help sooth away irritation. It’s formulated without artificial fragrances and colors too! You can use this all over your face or just on areas that you are experiencing breakouts and congestion.

I have to say that using the Overnight Clearing Gel in conjunction with the Sebum Clearing Masque is really a God-send for anyone suffering from acne! I used this product daily in the evening after cleansing my face. It works wonders without drying out your skin. I like that I am able to apply it all over my face as opposed to just targeting it on any blemishes, like other products which tend to dry out your skin if you use them all over. This product did not dry my skin out, cause any dry patches, or cause any type of irritation. Rather, it does a wonderful job at minimizing blemishes and clearing them up with consistent use.
All in all, I think both of these products earn 5 stars! Something else I noticed as well which I can’t pin point which product to attribute this too, but throughout the day I’ve noticed that my skin gets less oily. If you’re looking for a mask to clear your pores out and help prevent breakouts, I would recommend the Sebum Clearing Masque. Alternatively, if you’re looking for a product to help clear up acne and keep it away, I would recommend the Overnight Clearing Gel. Either way, if you suffer from acne, I think you’ll find that consistently using both of these products in your regime will make a world of a difference! I’m definitely interested to try out some more products from the Dermalogica line after trying these two out.
