Naturally, after hearing how amazing this brand was and how innovative their products are, I was ready to put the products to the test! I was also able to get a few expert tips on skincare for a variety of skin types straight from Kat Burki herself, which I will include later in this post.
The Kat Burki Vitamin C Nourishing Cleansing Balm repairs, renews, and illuminates skin using a reparative combination of 15% STAY C (Vitamin C), camu camu berry, gotu kola, and seven reparative cold processed oils: coconut, sunflower, jojoba, rose hip seed, olive, avocado, and cranberry seed. It also helps to repair the signs of aging.
You can use this both in the morning and evening! Apply a dime size amount of product onto the included muslin cloth after dampening it. Massage onto face, neck, and decollete area using circular motions. Remove product and residue using warm water. This product is for all skin types.

Using the Vitamin C Nourishing Cleansing Balm is quite an experience! I had only ever tried one cleansing balm in the past so these type of products are still new to me. I found this product to be effective at removing makeup, including mascara, which is something that is hard to find. I loved using the included muslin cloth with the Cleansing Balm, as it was super soft and gentle against the skin. The first thing I immediately noticed after using this was that my skin felt hydrated and I hadn’t even put any moisturizer on yet! This is sort of like a two-in-one type of product to me.
The skin’s barrier is responsible for keeping lipids and moisture locked in as well as protecting against pollutants, toxins, and bacteria. Optimizing the skin’s PH level is an important step towards overall skin health and protection from environmental damage and the aging process. Plus, skin looks its best when proper PH Levels are maintained.
The PH+ Enzyme Essence contains a unique complex of PH balancing ingredients. Fruit enzymes help to resurface the acid mantle. Once a strong barrier function is achieved, secondary conditions, such as hyperpigmentation and weakened elasticity can be addressed. Antioxidant dense turmeric strengthens while Vitamin C from orange hydrosols, pumpkin seed oil, and papaya support collagen to maintain skin structure and firmness. Bioactive pumpkin and papaya enzymes are rich in iron, zinc, C and K to infuse the skin with phytochemicals and fortifying compounds, thus strengthening cellular responses and accelerating the exfoliation process.
This product is also for use both in the morning and evening. Apply a dime size potion to fingertips and pat onto the skin. Allow for full absorption. Use this product prior to your moisturizer or serum to prep and protect the skin. This product is recommended for normal, combination, and sensitive skin.

I have never used a product like this before so I honestly had no idea what to expect. I do have oily, acne-prone skin and had a few small blemishes when I started using this product. I can’t comment as to how this product affected the PH levels of my skin because I have no idea how to tell – but I can tell you that I enjoy this product. In combination with the next product, my skin appeared much more brighter and the active blemishes I had on my face started to go away within just a couple of days.
The phenomenal penetration of skin brighteners in this product make photo damage and aging skin a thing of the past. Proper penetration is the key, and the inconsequential epidermis is not what needs attention. The dermal level is what needs to be addressed as minuscule scar tissue builds up and skin clarity and brightness is compromised. This product has been formulated to in fact penetrate fully into the dermal layer, and added skin brighteners that have been clinically proven to be more effective than hydroquinone to restore damaged cells to their more youthful integrity for a younger, more even toned complexion.
This product can be used both in the morning and evening. You’ll want to cleanse your skin first then pat dry. Apply a small amount to the entire face, neck, and decollete. You can even use this under makeup. This product is intended for mature or dull skin, or those with uneven skin tones and dark spots.

So, as I was mentioning when I was talking about the PH+ Enzyme Essence, I felt that I needed to discuss these two products together. I started using all of these products on the same day. I can’t exactly attribute which product, or perhaps it is both of them working together, that has caused my skin to look so glowy. I noticed it probably three or four days into testing these out (both in the morning and at night). I had finished washing my hands in the bathroom and looked up into the mirror and I visibly noticed that my skin looked more illuminated and bright.
Both of these have a similar scent to me – and they both sort of smell like bananas to me (although not in a fake type of way). I’ve used both of these products in both the AM and PM, and found that they didn’t have any impact on the longevity of my makeup wear or anything like that. I had absolutely no adverse reactions.
My experience with trying out these Kat Burki products was wonderful. This has really intrigued me as to the rest of the line. I think I might splurge on a few items to explore more! All in all, while everything is more on the luxury end when it comes to skincare products, I think these products are worth it. The results are visible and the results come quick, just as mentioned on the Kat Burki website.
Now, as I mentioned earlier, here are some skincare tips from Kat Burki herself.
The following three steps are the same for all skin types – it is in the next steps where you will want to add in different products. Good, healthy skin is the baseline of what you want for any skin type. Depending on your skin concerns, it’s important to add different moisturizers, anti-aging serums, or treatments for damaged skin to encourage repair.
Cleansing/Toning/Balancing:
For oily skin, I recommend to cleanse twice a day to avoid bacteria and clogging pores. Counter-intuitively to what many people with oily skin believe, it requires good, healthy oils and moisturizing nutrients so the skin stops trying to overproduce its own oils. You want to avoid cleansers with irritants and alcohol – alcohol will strip the skin, causing it to overproduce oil. A double cleanse for this skin type is preferable. The first step is to remove excess oils and the second to add healthy oils back into the skin – the Kat Burki KB5 Calming Cleanser followed by the Vitamin C Nourishing Balm is the perfect combination to cleanse the skin.
A good toner will not only set the skin but flood it with nutrients and antioxidants – calming inflammation and protecting the skin. Again, it’s important to avoid a toner that is alcohol-based. The Kat Burki Super Nutrient Elixir is full of antioxidants such as camu camu and 15% glycolic acid which helps prep the skin for further steps in your skincare regime.
Next, I suggest the PH+ Enzyme Essence, which works exceptionally well on oily skin. The PH+ Enzyme Essence works to return the skin to its preferable PH balanced state of slightly acidic – this combats bacteria, daily toxins, and grime. The essence is particularly effective for oily skin because of its enzymes that go to work, providing a mild exfoliation to encourage cellular health and turnover.
Moisturizing for Oily Skin:
For oily skin, you want a moisturizer that is breathable and antioxidant-rich. Typically those with oily skin tend to have larger pores and overproduce its own oils – you want a moisturizer that does its job, but won’t clog your pores. The best product for this is the Kat Burki Vitamin C Intensive Moisturizing Cream. You are not only calming the skin, but giving it healthy, breathable moisture so it won’t overproduce oil.
The final step for oily skin is to spot treat to lock in all necessary nutrients and add an extra layer of protection with a very high quality oil. You want to make sure there are no other ingredients in the oil that are going to upset the skin. The Kat Burki Power Trio Radiance Oil includes raspberry seed oil, which acts as a natural salicylic acid to combat acne!
Combination Skin Next Steps:
Those with combination skin are safe to follow the same regime as those with oily skin. Typically, combination is oily in the t-zone and normal to dry on the rest of the face.
It’s crucial for combination skin to follow a good, healthy skincare regime of a cleansing face wash, alcohol-free toner, and PH balancing enzyme, but would also benefit from a nightly hydration mask to add an extra layer of moisture and nutrients. Mature Skin Next Steps:
