I was totally unfamiliar with the Love Beauty and Planet line, so I did some research to find out more about it. Love Beauty and Planet started with the aim of making women more beautiful while maintaining an eco-sensitive position. They claim to “want to help make a little difference with every shower towards a happier, less wasteful planet.” Their approach is a holistic one, encompassing the entire product life cycle and beyond: they’ve given careful thought to ingredients, product packaging, and social partnerships. For instance, the products are packed in 100% recycled bottles made entirely with post-consumer recycled plastic and once discarded, they are 100% recyclable too. They do not test on animals and their products are vegan and contain no dyes or parabens!

Tea Tree & Vetiver Body Wash | $6.99

Infused with Australian tea tree oil and earthy Haitian vetiver, Love Beauty and Planet Daily Detox Body Wash “offers a supremely purifying clean that detoxes and renews all skin types.” Tea trees – really more of tall shrubs than trees – occur naturally in Eastern Australia and are known to have purifying and cleansing properties. Sourced from the wet lowlands of Australia, the tea tree oil infused in these products is harvested and pressed through a steam distillation process. The result is a fragrant, invigorating body wash that left my skin feeling clean and fresh!

Murumuru Butter & Rose Shampoo and Conditioner | $6.99 each

The shampoo, especially formulated for color-treated hair, is infused with Amazonian murmuru butter, which is said to “moisturize for a healthy looking gloss.” Bulgarian rose petal gives it a hint of floral fragrance. Although I don’t have color treated hair, winter is rough on my tresses, so I thought that the moisturizing formula would be beneficial. I was absolutely right and found this to be a gentle, luxurious formula that smelled heavenly and, when used with the conditioner, one that left my hair feeling soft and looking shiny.

The conditioner, also formulated for color-treated hair, is also infused with Amazonian murumuru butter. The butter is made from fruit fat found in murumuru nuts, which fall from the trees in the Amazonian basin and is harvested by locals. Sourced from tall palm tree natives to the Amazon, the butter is widely recognized for helping to retain moisture, shine, and softness. Like the shampoo, the conditioner is also infused with a rose fragrance. Used with the shampoo, I found this a winning product. My hair was soft, shining, and healthy-looking. Also, like the other products in the line, both shampoo and conditioner were extremely well-priced. I would have expected to pay far more for such luxurious products in such ample sizes.

Sugar & Rose Creamy Body Scrub | $6.99

Infused with rose absolute, this sugar scrub promises to leave skin “soft and blooming with freshness.” Winter wreaks havoc on my skin, so I was eager to try exfoliating with this product and when I did, I found it was the best scrub I have ever used. Some scrubs are so strong that they can be harsh and unpleasant. Others aren’t strong enough so they don’t seem to do anything. This one was perfect. It had a delightful scent, and felt bracing, but not rough, leaving my skin petal soft. And the price simply cannot be beat! This scrub performed like a product that cost five times as much.

Bottom line: budget and eco-friendly, this is a great line and I plan to sample more of their products ASAP!
