The feeling of a freshly cleaned face does wonders for me, especially since my skin is oily. Though we know better that having squeaky clean skin is not actually good, I still like the feeling of a thorough cleanse. I have a preference for gel or foaming cleansers because they seem to fight grease the best. The down side is that they can sometimes have a drying or stripping effect. Fortunately, Wei East’s China Herbal Age Delay Foaming Cleanser ($16.00) does the former without the latter.

For thousands of years, Chinese herbal remedies have been used to maintain inner health and outer beauty. Wei East combines this knowledge with advanced technology to create its natural skincare treatments. Their China Herbal Age Delay Foaming Cleanser features the antiseptic properties of mandarin orange to cleanse and Chinese rose to balance and soften. The result is a refreshing cleanser that fights oil and nourishes dryness.

The first thing I noticed while working it into a lather on my face was its lovely fragrance: iced citrus-tinged green tea with a hint of sweet rose is what came to mind. It actually felt as fresh as it smells. After rinsing it off with water, one emerges with clean and softened skin. Though it doesn’t dry out my skin, I do find I have to follow it up with some kind of moisturizer. It softens but is no match for the arid, winter air. However, this is an excellent candidate for summer use when dryness is not an issue. I look forward to putting it to good use very soon!
