Some of my favorite reviews are of products from The Body Shop. The brand offers amazing products and I am usually very impressed by them. Today, I’m here to share with you some new products including BB creams, lip butters and a face primer.

The first product I will start with is the Tea Tree Pore Minimiser ($18.00), which claims to make pores look smaller while priming and mattifying the skin, leaving it both fresh and pure. This product comes in a squeeze tube with a twist off cap. The dispenser is just small enough so that you don’t squeeze out too much product, so you’re not wasting any. It does not stand up on its own because of the design, but that doesn’t bother me much.

The smell of the product might be a little much for some people, due to the tea tree oil. If you have ever smelled tea tree oil directly from a tube (not within another product), you would know it is very potent and strong. This product does have a scent of tea tree oil, so if you dislike that smell you will dislike the smell of this product as well. To me, it’s not strong enough to cause me to not reach for it.

For a little facial background, I have combination/oily skin, meaning that my nose and cheeks typically get the most oil, rather than the rest of my face; my skin is also very acne-prone. The product itself is amazing. Now, I don’t notice that this product particularly mattifies my skin, but I do use it as a primer (as intended). I do notice that it keeps my skin from becoming oily throughout the day. I don’t necessarily notice that my pores look smaller, but then again I don’t suffer from large pores. So, someone who does have that problem may notice a bigger difference than I would.

I will however give this product praise for something that it doesn’t even claim to do: This product actually works towards HEALING the current blemishes and breakouts on my face! I know that it’s due to the tea tree oil, but I love the fact
that underneath my makeup this product is working towards clearing my skin. For this reason, I also use this product underneath my moisturizer at night. I would definitely repurchase this product, if not for the priming and pore minimizing factors, then definitely for the anti-acne properties in it.

The next product is the Dragon Fruit Lip Butter ($6.00) and the best thing about purchasing this product is that all proceeds from the sales will be donated to charity! Thumbs up for The Body Shop! You can vote for which charity both online and in-store. The product itself is packaged in a cute little tub, with a twist off cap, and has a bright and colorful design. When I first opened the pot, I instantly smelled a floral-type scent, which is not particularly my favorite. The second note that I picked up was the dragon fruit though.

The application of this product is smooth and is most definitely moisturizing. I love the feel of it on my lips — it’s very soft and smooth. I will note that since the product itself is white, I found that it sort of gave a white cast to my lips, and made them a little more pale, but I didn’t find that it made them ghostly white or anything… so no big deal. The moisture payoff from this product lasts long after the product has worn off of your lips, which could be a few hours to possibly longer —  depending on the amount of eating/drinking/talking, etc you do. I definitely would purchase this product again. It has a great price tag and the sale proceeds go to charity. You really can’t go wrong.

The final product I have to share is the All-In-One BB Cream ($20.00; pictured above). The packaging is metallic and therefore a little difficult to photograph, coming in a squeeze tube with a twist off top.

This product claims to be an all-in-one product. Pigment-filled capsules burst once applied to the skin, releasing the color inside. It claims to have an undetectable finish and adapts to your skin tone, providing light to medium coverage with 24-hour hydration to give an even finish while not clogging your pores.

I was very surprised when testing out these products because I have never used a BB cream before. The cream dispenses as a white liquid, with no pigmentation. It is not thick, but no thin. It is somewhere in the middle of the two. Once applied
onto the skin, the BB cream begins to take on the pigmentation. It’s a very strange thing to watch if you ask me (lol).

I have tried this in all three shades: 01, 02 and 03. I can definitely say that 01 was much too light and had a very pink undertone for my skin; 02 was a tad bit too light for me and 03 was a little bit too dark. So, if you are a MAC NW25, it would be best to combine the 02 and 03. 03 is unfortunately the darkest shade this product comes in. When it comes to application, the product applies nicely and creates a nice finish. I did notice that it was a little streaky when used with a stippling brush, however, when I used my fingers, it applied much better. Perhaps a beauty blender would have been the best way to apply this.

This product, in my opinion, should not be considered light to medium coverage. I found that this product offered little to no coverage whatsoever, besides the tint. I would consider this to be in the same category as a tinted moisturizer. I don’t
believe that the product itself is bad, I just think for someone who needs more coverage (having acne and blemishes, or dark spots), this would not be a good product. I would say this is a great for a young teen who is just getting started using makeup, or perhaps an adult who just doesn’t need the coverage of a foundation. I will use this product as a tinted moisturizer and therefore just dab concealer on spots where I need more coverage.

I did not notice any adverse effects on my skin, such as breakouts, clogged pores, etc. So, I can attest to the fact that this product lives up to it’s claim to be non-clogging. I also noticed that it did leave my skin feeling very moisturized.

I would say this product has a pretty good wear time. I wore it all day long and did not experience any breakdown of the foundation on my oily skin. I put the BB cream on at around 9:00 a.m. in the morning and didn’t wash my face until maybe 8:00 p.m. The BB cream basically looked the same and it appeared to have helped control my oil, rather than break down. I did not have the need to touch-up. This product provides a very natural looking finish, and will make you look as if you are not even wearing any makeup at all. If you are a fan of BB creams or tinted moisturizers, you will probably fall in love with this product.
