(Review & Giveaway) Punxsutawney Phil’s February Skincare/Body Care Guide; win Ava Anderson’s Skincare Line

Oh, Punxsutawney Phil…it sounds as though he’s erred once again. Just when we the going got so good last week, the deep freeze has hit us once again. Here’s our gift guide to making your skincare and body care routine just so easy — because it’s too chilly out there not to hydrate.

punxsutawney phil 2011

It’s no secret that we women like to pamper ourselves, and there’s nothing that helps us do that better than skincare and body care products. So now that we’ve passed the Valentine’s mayhem, we here at BeautyStat thought it would be a little fun to compile a list of the gifts we wish Punxsutawney Phil would have given us (after all, he messed up…the rodent DID say spring would be around the corner). The following list includes a few new products made of some really revolutionary ingredients, some products that won us over because of their adorable packaging, and some products that we’re lusting over just, well, because.

And since we love our BeautyStat readers so much, we’ll be giving away one of these fabulous babies, so read on and lust away, lovelies!

Skincare

philosophy hope in tinted moisturizer

Philosophy’s Hope in a Tinted Moisturizer, $38, sephora.com

bare minerals
bareMinerals Skincare, available March 2010, bareescentuals.com

This unique new line of eight products includes a revolutionary ingredient, ActiveSoil Complex, that is extremely effective in cell tern over, pore reduction, and antioxidant capacity. The line won’t be released until March, but we are counting the days until it does!

ava anderson

Ava Anderson’s Daily Skin Care System. $68.95, avaandersonnontoxic.com

We’ve been really into good-for-you products lately, so this one really caught our eyes.  The Ava Anderson Daily Skin Care System includes Cleanser, Toner, Moisturizer and Eye Make-up Remover Pads, and is a part of the 16-year-old’s much buzzed about line of non-toxic cosmetic products. Besides the fact that we’re amazed at this little makeup maven’s talents, we’re pretty darn happy to hear that all the products are super safe for us to use!

ole henrikson feel the difference mask

OLEHENRIKSEN’s African Red Tea Feel the Difference Perfecting Face Mask, $35, sephora.com

Ok, so we know that a day at the spa might be a bit pricey, but that doesn’t mean you can’t pamper yourself at home all year round! With OLE HENRIKSEN’s African Red Tea Feel the Difference Perfecting Face Mask, you can help bring the spa to you. Antioxidants in the brand’s African Red Tea Feel the Difference Perfecting Face Mask help calm and soothe skin while the mask’s cooling sensation helps define and lift facial contours.

goldfaden bright eye
Goldfaden’s Bright Eyes, $80, Goldfaden.com

We know we’re beautiful, but sometimes we need a little help when we can’t get a full night’s rest. Enter Goldfaden’s new active solution eye serum, and our peepers are going to look a lot brighter. This intense treatment works hard to reduce the appearance of puffiness and dark circles with its soy peptides, 100%Hyauluronic acid and organic red tea.

Body Care

ps i love you lush
PS I Love You, $24.95, lushusa.com

Ok, so Valentine’s Day has gone and passed, but we’d still be pretty happy if our main squeeze got us this adorable and love-appropriate gift set any time during the year! PS I Love You features four products—Magic Mushroom bubble bar, Strawberry Feels massage bar (mini), Love Birds soap, and It Started With a Kiss lip tint—and is wrapped up in festive, heart-embossed paper.

jurlique love balm
The Love Balm, $9, jurlique.com

Besides its love-appropriate name, this product has us falling hard for a few other reasons. For one, The Love Balm is made with natural ingredients and moisturizing elements (think Vitamin E) that will help keep our skin hydrated. And we’re also digging this product’s price! For the month of February, The Love Balm is discounted $6, down to $9 from $15.

tocca cremadasogno giulietta

TOCCA’s Crema da Sogno body cream, $45, tocca.com

We like a little luxury in our lives from time to time, so we’re in love with this rich body cream from TOCCA. Natural ingredients, cocoa and shea butter, and TOCCA’s signature fragrances combine forces to leave your skin smelling and looking great. Even better? The cream is available in several tempting fragrances, including Brigitte, Giulietta, Cleopatra, Stella, and Florence.

kiehls creme de corps

Kiehl’s Since 1851 Creme de Corps Collection, $45, kiehls.com

Since we sometimes want a bit of everything, we were thrilled when we came across this deluxe set from Kiehl’s Since 1851! The set includes a 4.2 oz. Creme de Corps, a 6.8 oz. Creme de Corps Soy Milk & Honey Body Polish, and deluxe samples of Kiehl’s Creme de Corps Soy Milk & Honey Whipped Body Butter and Ultra Facial Cream.

We are giving away a set of the new Ava Anderson products to one lucky winner who will undoubtedly superseed the curse of Punxsutawney Phil this winter. Just leave us a comment below to tell us what your winter moisturizing routine (or fave product) is.
Good luck!

For serious dry skin & /or overnight treatment I use Burt’s Bess Almond milk beeswax hand creme. It is hardcore & greasy but it helps!

My winter routine involves changing up my moisturizer from oily skin to combo dry skin. Currently, I use Clinique moisturizers. They feel nice and the price is right. I also use a liquid foundation more in the winter as opposed to powders in the summer.

I’ve been using Philosophy Hope in a Tube on my eyes and lips. It’s the only product I’ve tried that keeps my lips from peeling. I also switched to a gentle cleanser, Purpose, because my skin felt too tight & dry from other cleansers.
