Review/Photos: Origins Plantscription – Prescription-Like Anti-Aging/Anti-Wrinkle Results Using Natural Ingredients

I’m very into serums these days–I like the intense punch they deliver to my skin, and so I am always on the lookout for new ones.  The serum from Origins, Plantscription promises to “fight and reverse visible signs of aging: lines, wrinkles, discolorations, loss of firmness and rough texture without drying or irritating.”  I say: “Bring it on!”

This is not a prescription product, but Origins is indicating it gives prescription-like results in just four weeks.  The new ingredient here is Anogeissus, found in Ghana, West Africa. For centuries, the leaves and bark of this plants have been used as a natural wound healer and antimicrobial.

I used the product as recommended (morning and evening) for about two weeks. Here’s what I liked: the fresh, botanical scent, the way it was nicely absorbed by my skin (no greasy a.m. cheeks!)  As for the claims it makes, I found the results mixed: yes, my skin looked smooth and toned; loving that.  But I do have some discoloration due to prior sun exposure and I did not find that the product made any visible difference in that area. Maybe in two more weeks I will notice a change in the coloration of my skin; this remains to be seen.

Bottom line: I would buy/ keep using, but if discoloration remains, I would also continue searching for a product that can address that issue.  It retails for $55.00.
