Most of the time a rich facial oil might include moisturizing almond, macadamia or beech nut oil. All beneficial and great for the skin, but, if you have an allergy to foods like peanuts and/or tree nuts, then you might want to stay away from certain nut oils even for your skin! Argan oil (although not considered a nut) has triggered symptoms of those highly allergic to tree nuts. I talked with Dr. Elizabeth Tanzi, Co-director of the Washington Institute of Dermatologic Laser Surgery in Washington, DC., about how severe skin allergies can be. “Some people have very strong allergies to nuts and need to stay away from them in all forms,” explains Dr. Tanzi. But what about other foods like coconut and apricot oils? They aren’t considered nuts, but always make sure to do a skin patch test before trying any product.

And, if you do happen to experience an allergic skin reaction, Dr. Tanzi recommends discontinuing the product and and applying 1% of over-the-counter hydrocortisone cream for 3-4 days. Below, I’ve accumulated the best nut-free facial, hair and body oils for those allergic to nuts. You no longer have to give up on the facial oil craze, so enjoy and start using some oils! skincare review 5 best nut free facial hair and body oils what to do when you have an allergic reaction to beauty products

I love beauty oils like rosehip seed oils, argan and coconut oil! The great thing is that I am not allergic to any kind of nut so I could pretty much use any type of oils!
