When you think of a facial what usually comes to mind is steam and plenty of exfoliation. I was recently invited to experience a HydraFacial at Berenice Electrolysis & Personal Beauty Center, where a mega-team of clinical certified electrologists, licensed cosmetologist, estheticians and massage therapists work together to get you looking your best.

With over 30 years of excellence, Berenice has a loyal fan base of clients for her laser hair removal and other cosmetic services. It’s really a one-stop shop for all things beauty! And Berenice has been featured in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Instyle, Elle and Cosmopolitan for her optimal treatment services. She’s always up on the latest and greatest in beauty — and the HydraFacial is one of them.

A HydraFacial is exactly that! A moisturizing facial that removes dead skin cells and impurities while simultaneously bathing the skin with cleansing, hydrating and moisturizing skin solutions. The treatment is so effective and non-irritating that there is no redness afterwards. It feels so incredibly refreshing, as a vacuum-type device flushes pores with a hydrating Vortex-Fusion® of antioxidants, peptides and hyaluronic acid, all while removing dirt and impurities.

Hydration is the key to healthy skin. And it has been shown that irritation has been proven to increase the signs of aging. If you’re worried that your skin is too dry or sensitive for this facial, then think again! Even the most sensitive skin can have a HydraFacial, since it uses custom-blended treatment serums for your unique skin conditions.

It feels like a cool, wet paint brush is slowly moving across your face, improving the look of fine lines, hyperpigmentation and oily-acne-prone skin. I was surprised at how clean, I mean, thoroughly clean my face looked. And no redness was left behind (except the places where I needed extractions). A HydraFacial can show improvements with fine lines after 6 treatments. For best results one every two to four weeks.

My pores were incredibly clear and almost invisible. I didn’t want to go outside to clog them up again with the city smog and all. And the best part was seeing what was “sucked” out. Gross! I mean, I am diligent (obsessed really) with washing and cleaning my face. But just look at what was removed from my pores: dirt, grim, makeup, etc. And this was done twice in a matter of two weeks! Just when you think your face is clean, this treatment really makes you think otherwise. I was embarrassed really, but oh-so pleased with my results. I have to go back really soon!
