02 Aug (Giveaway & Review) Crabtree & Evelyn Launches India Hicks Island Living Hand Care, La Source Foot Care, and Holiday 2011 Collections
After a long, dreary day there is nothing quite like reverting to fragranced skin care treats from Crabtree & Evelyn. From the pretty packaging to the fresh ingredients, each body wash, foot scrub and lotion is a journey around the world.
We recently caught up with Prince Charles’ god daughter, India Hicks, to learn more about her adventures and the brand’s new launches. Outspoken and humorous, Hicks told us about her mother’s passion for travel and how it shaped her life and memories. “I’ve backpacked and lived on a farm in New Zealand,” she says while also mentioning how her current island lifestyle is far from boring (she lives with her kids and her partner in a small island in the Bahamas).
No surprise then that the India Hicks Island Livingcollection is inspired by tropical blooms like spider lily, and full of delicate notes like citrus and orange blossoms and night-blooming jasmine. We are especially impressed with the minimalist yet elegant packaging of the products and Getaway Bags, which feature a spindly coral motif. As the saying goes, less is more. The newcomer to this collection is the Hand Care line, with gems like the ultra moisturizing Hand Therapy treatment that deeply hydrates without leaving a whiff of slick residue.
Noel Collection Holiday 2011 for 25th Anniversary
One of my especial favorites in the new launches by Crabtree & Evelyn is the New Pomegranate, Argan Oil and Grapeseed collection, a combination inspired by John Evelyn’s quest for the very best. I have the hand cream by my nightstand and refuse to part with it because I do think it’s one of the very best hand creams (if not THE best) out there: the extracts nourish and give antioxidant properties and the fragrance itself is deliciously natural and not over powering. Best of all, the hands are moisturized in a jiffy, sooner than you can say “Transformers.” These also have conditioning pumpkin oil, with apricot extracts and shea butter. Two thumbs and two toes up for this line, which launches in the fall.
Golden Topaz Collection for Holiday 2011
To celebrate the holidays, the line is launching an exciting New Limited Edition 25th Anniversary Noel Home Fragrance that looks, smells and feel so opulent but will pinch yourself since they’re such a good deal. The journey begins East with the Golden Topaz fragrance (a blend that I especially love, because its spicy) featuring notes of clementine, frankincense and myrrh. The Smoky Amber is not for the faint of heart and has notes of crystallized ginger, golden amber and cardamom (I seriously want to eat this candle, whole). The packaging of the holiday collection is so rich, with jewel-tone colors and Indian patterns. If you’re eager to travel but don’t have the resources to splurge for a plane ticket, indulge in Crabtree’s gifts that resemble The Three Wise Men’s offerings. And last but not least, my favorite La Source line has a new star products as part of its Foot Care Spa line, and the gem in this is really the Warming Foot Smoother. You apply this scrub on damp feet and enjoy as your feet warm with a delicious sensation — soon your tootsies will feel as though they’ve soaked in hot springs for a long time.

Posted at 01:43h, 17 AugustI would love to try the hand therapy! I was diagnosed with perioral dermatitis, which is a skin condition that results in an allergic breakout all over my face. It’s pretty embarrassing. I have had to remove all products with SLS (a lathering chemical compound, aka sulfates). My skin has suffered so badly, the sulfate free products of C&E combined with natural Shea butter and oils are exactly what my skin needs. I hope that I get to try this product… It sounds amazing.

Posted at 01:43h, 20 AugustI love all of their amazing products, but I tend to go towards anything with rose in it. But, I’d just love to try this one – it’s so exotic feeling. Exotic scents appeal to me because they make me feel it. And, that is a very, very sexy thing. 🙂
