First things first: I love using the Glo Brilliant Personal Teeth Whitening Device, yet, it was given to me and costs nearly $200.00 at Sephora and I buy my refills for $45.00 when needed.

It works. It’s won awards and is incredibly efficient. With that being said, I agreed to sample the Prime Time Smile Active Blue Teeth Whitening Kit ($44.00) because it was more affordable and was said to whiten teeth in less than 30-minutes!

It’s an easy enough product to use. You first apply the whitening gel via a pen brush and then hold a dentist-inspired active blue-LED light in your mouth to activate and accelerate the whitening gel.

You apply the light initially for 10-minutes and repeat the process a second time to complete one treatment. I saw a slight difference after 20-minutes and believe if I continue to use this system, it would in fact make my teeth whiter.

I prefer the ease of the GLO system, as I found it a bit uncomfortable to hold the dentist-inspired device in my mouth for the two 10-minute sessions. It did work though — it made my teeth slightly lighter in one treatment.

It is said to be able to whiten your teeth up to 5+ shades with virtually no sensitivity, and you can also use the system as often as you’d like. It’s an affordable product that I believe, over time, can improve the shade of your pearly whites!

I have a hard time finding a great product that could lighten my teeth with leaving them sensitive to hot or cold products. I see the results are great but did it give you any sensitivity problems? Great review

Hello! My teeth are sensitive and neither hot nor cold products bothered them after use. You are encouraged to wait 30 minutes before drinking anything after application. Nicole

There was definitely a difference after 20 minutes. It seems simple enough to use at home. I will have to try it.

I’m trying it for the first time right now as we speak… My first thought is the instructions aren’t very clear. You have to click the gel pen a lot times to get a small amount of gel out.. maybe it only has about 5% of the pen’s capacity in whitener? The light will not stay on my teeth without me holding it…. so…. I took a headband with a wide strap, stretched it around my head to hold it onto my teeth.. the other thing is, I’m afraid to swallow it so I’ve had to spit a couple of times while doing the treatment.. wondering if I’m washing off the whitener when I spit. I have recessed gums, therefore my teeth are very sensitive. The treatment did irritate just a little once I first applied it but went away after about 5-10 seconds. I did all 4 treatments as instructed and I can’t really tell much of a difference upon first use. I even took pics but the lighting in here is bad.
