18 Oct Celeb Musings: On Kim Kardashian’s Dubai Tour, Sephora Fragrance Promotion, and Beauty Secrets
Just when I think I can’t get enough of Kim Kardashian or her family, I receive an email that talks about her promoting her fragrances at Sephora, and this time in Dubai.
And in keep with all things Dubai, she was also peddling the gorgeous gold bottle that drips in opulence.
At first, I was inclined to gloss over the news –I mean, she’s everywhere, right?– but then I did a double take when I saw her photo. She’s truly a gorgeous woman, any way you look at it!
While I’m still recovering from a complete media overload (her engagement, Fairy Tale Wedding, clothing line, Shoedazzle.com, and we won’t even mention her Playboy spread etc.etc.) there’s no questioning that she really knows how to play up her beauty. Here are a few things I’ve learned from watching Kim Kardashian over the past few months, in the beauty department at any rate:
- Wear lots of blush — even if you have a darker skin tone like Kim’s, don’t underestimate the power of a good blush. We are a bit smitten with Benefit Cosmetics’ Cha Cha Tint.
- Love your shiny hair…it takes some serious hair maintenance to get your locks that glossy but look at the payoff!
- Drape your lashes in some serious mascara. Again, we love Benefit Cosmetics’ They’re Real mascara which will seriously give you some KK length lashes.

Posted at 15:28h, 18 OctoberI saw Kim’s makeup artist doing a full blown “Kim” look on Heidi Klum on AOL. When her make up artist was finished…Heidi looked as glammed out as the original! As mush as Kim is all over the news, she does always look picture perfect…thanks to her entourage, of course.

Posted at 00:31h, 23 OctoberI’m sure I’ll get criticized for this comment but I can’t help but completely disagree with your assessment of Ms. K. Let’s not forget she became famous via her famous attorney father, who happened to be extremely wealthy, with enormous connections in the entertainment industry.
Let’s also not forget that she has absolutely no talent except for making sex tapes and posing naked.
Third, her hair might look beautiful and shiny, but that’s because it isn’t real. If you could replace your hair with human hair extensions every few weeks, your hair would always look in tip top shape as well.
Fourth, she has no beauty tips since she has probably never applied her own make up in her life. If you had an entourage who did your hair and make up, not to mention dressed you every time you left the house, you’d look pretty great as well. Well, let me re phrase that, I’m sure you look beautiful just as you are.
I’ve seen many pictures of Ms. K without make out and it’s truly amazing how make up can transform a person into someone totally different. I compare her to Brooke Shields, who I saw and spoke to as we were having our hair done years ago at John Sahag Salon. Brooke wasn’t wearing a stitch of make up and she was absolutely gorgeous, a Greek Goddess, nothing like Ms. K.
Finally, Ms. K ALWAYS wears fake eyelashes so they should look beautiful.
I don’t know why people are so taken with this family. They are media whores and Ms. K was just recently named in one of the well known magazines as the most despised celebrity. This family represents everything that’s wrong with American morals, such as doing anything, and I mean anything, for a buck.
I will say that I do like her sisters, Kourtney and Khloe. And just for the record, I think Khloe is the funniest, prettiest and most approachable of the lot. She is real and someone I could see having as a fun friend. I wish people would stop the name calling and criticizing her, calling her ugly or heavy. If she is unattractive, then the beauty industry has really brainwashed society as to the true meaning of beauty, which is so sad.

I’d be flawless too if i could afford anything and everything.. all she really does for me honestly is make me feel bad I can’t afford to look like her. I love myself love my looks but who wouldnt want the finances too buy hair, eyelashes, makeup teams, hair teams sure..I’m a 27 yr old mama and she makes me nervous as too what my baby girl is going to view as beauty.. Khloes more naturaly gorgeous but gets insulted dooont get it I find her beautiful and she dosent seem to need too much to be beautiful…. It’s always kim..It’s just unrealistic for us “normal” people who would love too look like her and by look like her I do not mean have her face I mean have her team of artists to have the lashes,hair etc… nd the most annoying part of everthing is these people who have tons of money get this for free! the makeup companies should be sending people like me or you free things.. i get that kim gets you consumers by people who want too copy her look but giving the fre makeup too real people will have them talking to their friends who will talk to their friends etc.
