While watching the news the other day I was surprised (and saddened) to see the recap of the list of people who passed away last year. Vidal Sassoon was on the list. I had used his iconic Brown Tubular Bottle of Shampoo and Conditioner for years growing up — I remember it fondly. Well, I have some good news for the younger generation of today: P&G Beauty & Grooming has introduced an all-new Vidal Sassoon Pro Series color, care and styling line set to be released this January 2013.

I have reviewed two of the products in the line and have found them both to be in-line with Vidal Sassoon Pro Series’s high standards for hair care. The two products I tried were Boost & Lift Foaming Air Mousse and Repair & Finish Spray ($3.99 each; 5.07 oz.).

Both products are packaged in a sleek, new-age design. The mousse was easy to dispense, also very light and airy. I blow-dried my hair, as usual, and was excited to see the mousse work.

The top of my hair had more volume and the mousse was not sticky or stiff.  I had not used mousse in a while, because it usually was something that really did nothing for my hair. This was not the case with Vidal Sassoon Pro Series’s formula. I really liked the results! I tried it on wet and dry hair — and both ways proved to be effective.

The Repair & Finish Spray sprayed out easily; it is mainly used on your hair before it is styled. The name threw me off: if I did not read the directions, I would have assumed it was a spray to use on dry, already-styled hair. The formula works if you blow-dry your hair or let it dry naturally. It protects your hair and restores smoothness.

It also helps protect damaged hair from breaking, seals styles and tames flyaways. My hair was suffering from the cold weather, so I tested it to see how it worked.  After a few days, I noticed a definite difference.  My hair appeared healthier and looked much better than it had in the previous week.

One of the most important things to me when I try a new product is the smell. The product can work great, be packaged beautifully, but, if the scent is not good then I am never that happy with the product.  I loved the smell of both products!  It was fresh, clean and very pleasant.  I recommend both of these products. I am excited to try the rest of the products in the new line.
