It is no secret that I am a huge The Body Shop fan! I tried my first Body Shop product back in 2005 I believe… and I was hooked. Their body butters are Top 5 in my Body Product Favorites, so I expect the same quality from the cosmetics and have high expectations.

The Body Shop Holiday 2013 Collections – Honeymania, Colour Crush Lipstick, Body Butter Lollipop, Camomile Make-Up Removal, Ginger Sparkle

Having used their cosmetic products before and not being overly impressed with them, I had really wondered how these new releases would compare.

Let’s face it – when it comes to things like makeup, I am looking for not just quality and pigmentation, but overall feel, texture and lasting power.

When I received these goodies in the mail, I was very eager to try them all out and see how they have evolved in quality over the years.

The new release includes a plethora of lipsticks in every shade trending this season and all year round. You can also find 30 MUST-HAVE eyeshadow shades for showstopping looks that could grace every runway.

Let’s start off with the Colour Crush Lipsticks: 24 shades of lipsticks in three different finishes leave you with endless options when selecting a color for your pout. This new collection has replaced the ColourGuide Collection.

The lip colors include daring shades from reds (Red Siren 101) to browns/nudes (Golden Flirt 305) and everything in between. They have a light floral, rose fragrance, which did not bother me at all – I actually enjoyed the scent, and the color pigmentation is definitely awesome.

Each shade that I had the opportunity of trying applied with one sweep on to my lips, and the colors had  pretty nice staying power once applied. They felt very comfortable on the lips and left them feeling very moisturized. I was very amazed with how vibrant the shades were, because after trying their older lipsticks in the past, they were not as nice as these.

The colors are bold and you can easily find a shade for everyday use within the selection they have available. The packaging is super-cute, with bright colors on the casing that just scream “Color Crush”.

They are durable and I’ve been tossing them in my purse without worry that they will open and cause a mess inside. Each lipstick is priced at just $12.50, so it is easy on the pocket book and affordable enough for you to pick up a few shades for your collection. 100% cruelty-free, 100% vegetarian and 100% high-impact!

THE HEART INSIDE: Our Colour Crush Lipstick collection benefit from Community Fair Trade marula oil made from the ripe fruit of the sacred marula tree. We source it from the Eudafano Women’s Co-operative, which is helping 1,750 women to earn a fair income. The women involved in the project report that the benefits to them go beyond money, it also helps give them a sense of independence, business management and confidence.”

Now, on to the Colour Crush Eyeshadows: These 30 gorgeous shades were released this past spring. I haven’t had the opportunity to try these eyeshadows until now, so I really wondered about the formulation and their quality.

Before using them, I swatched each shade: Coconuts About You, Boyfriend Jeans, Pink Crush, Oh, Honey, Something Blue and Chat-up Lime. I was very, very amazed at how soft and silky these shadows felt just from the swatch, and then how pigmented they each were.

I used Oh, Honey and Coconuts About You in my look and loved how they blended so effortlessly, but still left a great punch of color. I am very impressed with these eyeshadows. Blending them out to eliminate harsh lines was very easy to do, and the color did not lose much of its vibrancy when adding additional shades.

To the touch, the shadows feel very soft and silky and while they did have some fallout, it wasn’t bothersome or easy to correct when finishing the look. I am very, very impressed!

The packaging for the shadows is pretty easy to work with as well and definitely awesome for storing. If there is one note I need to make, it is that the shadows are very soft and therefore break easily.

I received two of them in the mail that were cracked, which is understandable considering the softness of the shadow itself and how it can be thrown around in the mail. But, while storing in my makeup collection, I broke another.

THE HEART INSIDE: Our Color Crush Eyeshadows benefit from a blend of Community Fair Trade Brazil nut oil, marula oil, honey, organic virgin coconut oil and sesame oil. Our community Fair Trade Brazil nut oil comes from the Candela co-op in Peru. The ‘castaneros’ or nut gatherers collect the broken nuts that can’t be sold for food use and hand-crack them to extract the oil. Trade has helped to protect close to 7,500 acres of rainforest in the Madre de Dios region. Sustainable harvesting also helps to support the indigenous species that depend on the Brazil nut tree, such as the orchid bee.”

I don’t attest it to the quality of the packaging; it is so soft and silky that it often can break easily, so be sure to treat with care and store properly. Even if the shadows did break, pigmentation was not compromised and I could easily repress it if I needed to in the future.

Each eye shadow is just $10.00 each and definitely a great buy. Lots of product and just a little goes a long way. 100% cruelty-free!!!

The Colour Crush Lipsticks are gorgeous! I especially love the colour Rush of Pink! Ooh lala! The eye shadows look dreamy, but I would probably pass on purchasing them since they break so easily. Maybe in the near future this problem with the eye shadows will be perfected and then I may purchase them.

Love the pretty colors! The LipSticks all look like a Fall Collection and so do the EyeShadow Colors. Sounds like all of it goes on Satiny Feeling.

The 130 is sooo pretty!!! The prices sounded reasonable. And your makeup look – I need to try it. Very sultry. Lovely review!! <3
