What are some of the latest celebrity mani/pedi trends? What are the most popular shades for Summer/Fall 2013?
MS: As far as style, we’re seeing a lot of stilettos (long, pointy, tapered nails; as seen on Lady Gaga), glitter, white, bright colors because it’s summer. But as we ease into the fall, more earth and jewel tones. Dark blues, purples, plums, deeper burnt oranges with a little bling like frost or traditional glitter.

We’ve seen some of your amazing nail designs. Where do you get your inspiration?
MS: As an artist, inspiration is everywhere around me. From a pattern on a shirt to wallpaper. I love it! It’s everywhere!

Is it still a trend to match your fingernails to your toenails?
MS: Just go out and have fun! If you can’t try it on your nails because of business, try it on your feet. Just go out, walk around.

You’re at home, you look down and you’re happy because there’s pink, red, teal [on your toes]. I love teal. That’s a hot color right now. Teal and orange are hot.
